Jacqueline Loekito is a fashion designer, creative director and academic leader whose work bridges contemporary fashion, performance, and critical design research.
Born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia,
she moved to London at 19 to pursue a career in fashion.

She completed a Higher National Diploma in Fashion and Textile at Kingston College (2006–2008), earning the Textile Milliband Award in 2008, and went on to receive her BA (Hons) in Fashion Design from the University for the Creative Arts (2008–2011), where her graduate collection was selected for Graduate Fashion Week in London. She later completed her Master of Arts in Fashion Design at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW (2016–2018).

Jacqueline’s early career included roles as a stylist and teaching assistant at Kingston Colllege and University for the Creative Arts. In 2012, she gained national visibility in the UK as one of 12 designers featured on “Styled to Rock UK”, the design competition series executive-produced by Rihanna for Sky Living. This exposure led to further creative opportunities, including freelance work as a Costume Designer for Ubisoft in Paris (2013) and a Style Consultant at MATCHESFASHION in London (2013–2015).

After relocating to Basel in 2015, Jacqueline expanded her interdisciplinary practice into theatre, working as a costume designer for Roxy Theater, Neumarkt Zürich, and Theater Basel, contributing to productions that blend fashion, movement, and narrative. Her theatre work complements her broader design research focused on embodiment, identity, and visual storytelling.

In 2018, Jacqueline founded her eponymous label, where her work explores the intersections of gender, identity, and diversity. Her collections challenge gender binaries and promote
freedom of expression. Her label has been featured at the British Fashion Council and Mode Suisse, gaining visibility within international fashion platforms.

Alongside her creative practice, Jacqueline has developed a distinguished academic career at
the Institute of Fashion Design, HGK FHNW, where she has worked since 2015 in roles ranging from communication intern and assistant to research associate and lecturer across both the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes. In September 2022, she was appointed Head of the Master Studio Fashion Design (ICDP), where she now leads the MA programme, mentors emerging designers, and plays an active role in shaping the future of contemporary fashion and fashion research.

In 2024, her collection Earthlings won the Public Vote Award at Hochparterre in Switzerland, celebrating her contribution to forward-thinking fashion and cultural discourse.
